Commitment to Safeguarding

BSAF/ SportActiv is committed to promoting the safety and welfare for all engaged in sporting and physical activities locally. It aims to contribute to safeguarding by:

. Working towards and meeting the criteria and guidance set out in the Standards for Safeguarding and Protecting Children in Sport (CPSU)

. Implementing and demonstrating best safeguarding practice when core staff, volunteers or others are providing services, activities and programmes

. Working with partners to establish and implement agreed, consistent minimum safeguarding standards for activities.

. Requiring those individuals or organisations that are funded or commissioned to provide any services to effectively address safeguarding requirements

. Maximising its influence to promote safeguarding practice and principles within its wider partnership roles and relationships

The BSAF Board endorses these aims, having been engaged in the consultative process leading up to production of policy - and furthermore through ratification at board level.
