Mission Statement

"Our aim is to identify the many activities that take place within the Borough of Barnsley. To date very little research has taken place around this subject and therefore people are unaware of facilities and activities that exist on their doorstep"

"Within the Borough of Barnsley there is a need for local activities that can accomodate the needs of the local community. In order to access suitable facilities and activities many people commute to other surrounding areas in order to take part in their chosen activity"

Key Objectives

To create a "One Stop Shop" to facilitiate all of the needs within sport and active recreation and to support individuals, clubs and organisations who deliver in the area.
To recognise all sport and active recreation being carries out within the Borough of Barnsley
To promote and develop existing activities and encourage the formation of new ones
To forge effective links between schools, clubs, and statutory agencies
To improve the standard of facilities and coaching within the Borough
To improve the availability and accessibility of health activities throughout the whole area
To increase the number of participants, officials, coaches, administrators and volunteers in all sport and health related activities
